The Wyandot County Sheriffs Office is now handling the duties of the Dog Warden

Since the County is without a Dog Warden, the Sheriffs Office will be enforcing the laws of dog ownership. We want to remind everyone that if you have a dog, you need to have it licensed. We also need to make everyone aware that since the Auditors Office is not allowing anyone in their office to purchase dog tags, due to Covid-19, you need to
go online to purchase your dog license (click here).

The deputies will be checking to make sure your dogs are properly licensed if they are called out for any dog related complaints. It is your responsibility to make sure your dogs are on your property and properly leashed, or in a fenced in area. If you see a dog running loose, please do not hesitate to call the Wyandot County Sheriffs Office. Since Wyandot County is not currently operating the Dog Pound, please do not drop off any dogs at that location. Please take them to the Wyandot County Humane Society.

See more information on the Wyandot County Sheriffs Office Facebook page.

Peace for Paws Dublin, Ohio. Peace for Paws Ohio is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The organization primarily rescues animals from kill shelters in Ohio and surrounding states. Due to the high volume of urgent or “death row” dogs, the organization does not accept owner surrenders. Each animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, microchipped, heartworm negative and de-wormed prior to adoption. All animals are on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. Outside normal veterinary care, the organization also provides any additional veterinary care due to sickness or injury. The organization treats heartworm positive dogs and provides surgeries when necessary. We have relationships with Veterinary practices around Columbus. We rely heavily on the generous donations of the public to help fund these efforts.

This website has been operating since April 28th 2011. We understand that almost all the dogs at Wyandot County Dog Shelter in over 5 years have been rescued or adopted thanks to the concerned citizens of Ohio. Only two dogs were put down - one was very ill and the other was very aggressive. Many dog pounds kill over 80% of their intake.
